"Compose" a book of poetry by David M. Brandt

Hi!

I'm not only new at publishing but also at computers! So if I seem at little computer illiterate, forgive me.

I'm trying my hand at self-publishing for various reasons. One, too many rejcetion letters, (Although I did get one that REALLY considered my work seriously) Two, a few people who read the manuscript wanted a copy. (Okay, that feels pretty good!) Three, well, let's be honest, it would be nice to make some money from something that you love to do!

I'll get back later to post some of my material when I figure out how to do that cut, copy, paste thing that makes it easy to post your stuff without having to retype it all the time.

If you'd like to visit my web site, it's not much but it is informative, it's

Hope to hear from y'all soon!

Violets in the Dark

The autumn moon
silhouettes
an indigo
evening sky.
Cars pass by in a silent speed
as the twilight smolders
slowly away.
The moments glide by in a stingy ease.

The day has passed.

In a while, the nights
cool,
crisp
breath
will fill my lungs with a wild,
psychotic
wonderment.
A beckoning within to yawp out loud:

DREAM AWAY! DREAM AWAY!
OH, to scrape the sky so high
a kiss the heavenly stars alive!
What a way to fill the day!
Lord! How I’d love to fly away!
Oh, my, my, my, …
the wonder of it all!

Oh …
oh …
these …
sensations …
were once commonly numerous in their time,
now,
they’ve grown occasionally faint.
The realm of reality infatuatedly roosts
while the fire of desire
urgently simmers within.

The moment sweeps by with a silent smile.
A quiet gaze.
A soft,
welcome whisper.

The shadow of the moonlight ripples upon the river
casting it’s fate
within a warm autumn’s embrace.
